Safeguarding at TrueMind

We work with under-18s. Safeguarding sits at the front of every decision we make.

The Edge pilot is delivered to under-18 academy cohorts. Everyone from TrueMind who goes on site is enhanced DBS-cleared, safeguarding-trained, and operates inside the host club's safeguarding framework. This page sets out exactly how we work.

01 · Our posture

Five non-negotiables for academy work.

Clearance

Enhanced DBS-cleared on site.

Every TrueMind person on site at a club or academy is enhanced DBS-cleared. Certificates available on request.

Training

Safeguarding-trained to FA standard.

Every TrueMind person is safeguarding-trained to FA or equivalent standard. Annual refresh.

Framework

Inside the host club's framework.

We operate inside the host club's safeguarding framework, never alongside it or above it. The club's designated safeguarding officer leads. We follow.

Player sessions

No one-to-one closed-room sessions.

All voice sessions are completed by the player on their own device, in their own time, in a setting they choose, without a TrueMind person present. Group sessions with players are always staffed by a club representative.

02 · Named lead

Will Mellors-Blair is the TrueMind safeguarding lead.

Reach him at safeguarding@truemindedge.ai for any concern, question, or report.

03 · What you can expect from us

Visible, accountable, club-led.

Before

We share DBS and training certificates.

Before we visit, we share DBS confirmations and safeguarding certificates with the club's designated safeguarding officer.

On site

Signed in, visible, on-protocol.

We sign in, follow the club's protocols, and remain visible. We do not photograph or record players outside of the voice session itself.

Communication

No direct contact with players.

We do not communicate with under-18 players directly outside the platform. All communication with players sits inside the Edge web app or goes through club staff.

Reporting

Concerns reported immediately.

If a TrueMind person observes or is told about a safeguarding concern during a pilot, we report immediately to the club's designated safeguarding officer, and we share that report with the TrueMind safeguarding lead.

04 · What we ask of clubs

Three things, briefly.

If a concern involves a TrueMind person

If the concern relates to the conduct of a TrueMind person, we report to the club's safeguarding officer first, then internally, then act on the outcome of the club's investigation.

Annual review

We review our safeguarding posture annually with an external safeguarding advisor and update this page accordingly.
