The primer
Elite football measures the body in detail and the mind barely at all. Mental performance intelligence closes that gap. Here are the terms behind TrueMind Edge, in plain English.
01 · The category
Mental performance intelligence is the measurement of how an athlete thinks, learns and copes under pressure, turned into data a coaching staff can act on. It treats the mind as a trainable, measurable part of performance, the same way clubs already measure the body through GPS, sprint data and heart rate. TrueMind Edge is a mental performance intelligence platform built for elite football.
02 · The measures
The Edge Performance Index is a single headline number that summarises a player's mental performance, scored from 0 to 100. It combines signals from the three dimensions into one figure a coach can track over time, the way a fitness score summarises physical readiness.
Cognitive Control is the dimension covering focus, decision-making and error recovery. It describes how well a player holds attention under pressure, makes decisions in chaotic moments, and refocuses after a mistake.
Learning and Adaptability is the dimension covering coachability, pattern recognition and tactical absorption. It describes how quickly a player turns feedback into action, where their learning gets blocked, and how they adjust when something is not working.
Emotional Resilience is the dimension covering setbacks, confidence stability and stress recovery. It describes emotional carryover after a bad moment, what actually drives a player's confidence, and how fast they reset between performances.
03 · How it is captured
A voice-based assessment captures mental performance from how a player speaks, rather than from surveys or self-rating. Edge uses short, scenario-based voice sessions, five to seven minutes per player, because voice cuts through the performative bias and self-report distortion that make questionnaires unreliable.
Decision-grade intelligence is information reliable and clear enough for a coach to act on directly, rather than raw data that needs interpreting. Edge surfaces readiness, risk and resilience on a dashboard rather than handing staff a spreadsheet to decode.
04 · The posture
Non-clinical and non-diagnostic means Edge measures performance, not health, and does not diagnose or treat any condition. It sits alongside a club's sports psychology and welfare staff rather than in their lane, and is built GDPR-compliant and aligned to the EU AI Act, with client data ownership.
